Dr Preyesh Goven Shiba is a specialist clinical and radiation oncologist and has joined the Drs Alberts, Bouwer, & Jordaan Inc practice in Benoni from 01 September 2021. His core competencies include the treatment of solid and haematological malignancies with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. His main interests include gynaecological, gastrointestinal, prostate, bladder, lung, breast, CNS, skin and head & neck cancers.

Dr Goven Shiba completed his MBBCH in 2006 at University of the Witwatersrand. Following which he completed his internship and a year of community service at Chris Hani Baragwanath and Ermelo Provincial Hospitals respectively.

Dr Goven Shiba’s interest in cancer therapeutics led him to complete an honours degree in pharmacology from North West University in 2009. He subsequently worked as a medical advisor for Bristol Myers Squibb in 2010 and 2011, where he was responsible for the oncology portfolio. He worked as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of the Witwatersrand from 2012 to 2015 where he was actively involved in teaching and research. Furthermore, he developed extensive experience in emergency medicine and worked at several emergency departments in Johannesburg.

He joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in 2016 as a registrar and was admitted as a fellow by the College of Radiation Oncologists of South Africa in July 2020. He subsequently worked as a consultant at CMJAH before joining Drs ABJ Inc in September 2021.
