Dr Maritha Rossouw matriculated in 1989 from Oranje Girls High School in Bloemfontein and then went on to complete her medical degree (MBChB) in 1995 at the University of the Free State. After completing her internship at the Pelenomi Hospital and University hospital in Bloemfontein, she spent 2 years practicing in the United Kingdom.
Upon returning to South Africa, Dr Maritha Rossouw started working as a Registrar in the Radiation Oncology Department at Tygerberg hospital.
In 2002 she relocated to Pretoria and then worked as senior medical officer in Medical Oncology Department at Steve Biko Academic hospital for 2 years before joining Drs Alberts, Bouwer & Jordaan Inc (ABJ) at the ABJ Wilgers Oncology Centre. She was involved in clinical trials and worked at the unit until December 2010. During that time she completed one of the first palliative medicine courses that was offered by the University of Cape Town.
In 2011 she went back to being a registrar in the Radiation Oncology Department at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital, where she qualified as a Clinical and Radiation Oncologist from the College in August 2014.
In 2015 she joined the ABJ group again practicing as a Clinical and Radiation Oncologist in private practice. She is currently involved in the ABJ Wilgers Oncology Centre, ABJ Midstream Oncology centre and the ABJ Witbank Oncology Centre.
She is married to a minister of religion and has a son. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, seeing friends, walking and gardening
