Dr Bessy Thomas has always been driven by a simple belief: excellent cancer care should be both world-class and deeply personal. Now based in Pretoria, she is a Fellow of the College of Radiation Oncologists of South Africa (FC Rad Onc), with specialist expertise in clinical and radiation oncology. She completed her Master’s research in prostate brachytherapy, reflecting her particular interest in innovative, evidence-based treatment for prostate cancer

Her philosophy is simple: expert care, thoughtfully delivered, with the patient at the centre. She combines specialist knowledge with a personalised approach, ensuring that every patient feels informed, supported, and confident in their treatment journey.

Outside of medicine, Dr Thomas has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loves spending time in the bush, surrounded by wildlife. She enjoys trail running, embracing the challenge, fresh air and occasional reminder that perseverance is useful both in medicine and on the trails. More recently, she has developed a keen interest in birding — giving her yet another reason to slow down, look up and appreciate the beauty and stillness of the natural world.
